Preschool Teacher – Cedar Gables Preschool | Danbury, CT (06811)

If you naturally bring energy into a room, enjoy connecting with both children and adults, and take pride in doing meaningful work—you may be a strong fit for our team.

At Cedar Gables Preschool, we are building a team of teachers who are not just caring, but engaged, proactive, and connected—with their classrooms, their coworkers, and the families we serve.

This is not a “watch the clock” type of job. It’s a role for someone who wants to grow, contribute, and be part of a team that shows up for each other every day.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and lead classroom routines for children ages 2–5 (including before/after care as needed)
  • Create a classroom environment that is warm, structured, and actively engaging
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and your teammates
  • Communicate with parents in a friendly, professional, and approachable way
  • Take initiative throughout the day—if something needs to be done, you step in
  • Contribute to a team culture where teachers support each other
Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday–Friday
  • Typical shifts: 8:00–5:00 or 9:00–6:00
  • No weekends
What Helps You Succeed Here

  • You take initiative – you don’t wait to be told what to do
  • You are friendly and engaging – with children, parents, and your team
  • You want to grow – you are open to feedback and improving your skills
Non-Negotiables

  • Reliable attendance – your classroom depends on you
  • Professionalism – in communication, attitude, and accountability
  • Consistency and effort – you show up ready to contribute every day
This Is NOT for You If…

  • You tend to stay quiet or disengaged instead of actively interacting with children
  • You frequently call out or struggle with attendance
  • You prefer to do the minimum rather than take initiative
  • You don’t enjoy working as part of a team
  • You are looking for a short-term job rather than a career opportunity
What You Can Expect From Us

  • A supportive, team-oriented environment
  • Clear expectations—you won’t be guessing what success looks like
  • Paid training and ongoing support (we are willing to train the right person)
  • A workplace where effort, energy, and professionalism are recognized
  • PTO, paid holidays, and no weekend work
Compensation

  • $18–$22 per hour (based on experience, performance, and overall fit)
